DATAPROTECTOR primay cell manager on MC serviceguard_linux crashed

hello,

We have two nodes configured as primary and secondary dataprotector   cell managers on mc serviceguard on linux.

The primary server has crashed and the cluster and DP  is stilll running only with the secondary node (secondary cell manager).

we must now rebuild the primary cell manager, should we run the omniforsg.ksh script on it, or no.

Could you please share with us steps to return to the nominal situation: 2 cell managers within serviceguard.

Thanks

Hi @Mohammed1987,

Since the cluster already exists you need to run /opt/omni/sbin/install/omniforsg.ksh -secondary dirname to bring it into the cluster as an secondary node. The script is mandatory to do the local modifications.

Hello Sebastien,

Why we cannot use omniforsg.ksh -primary?

Before executing the script we should have dataprotector installed locally on the server?

Re: DATAPROTECTOR primay cell manager on MC serviceguard_linux crashed

Hi @Mohammed1987,

This is because omniforsg.ksh -secondary will join newly installed cluster node after the local installation to the existing configuration. All the files already exist on the shared disk.

Re: DATAPROTECTOR primay cell manager on MC serviceguard_linux crashed

Hello Sebastien,
So the action plan will be:
1-rebuild the os of server
2-install serviceguard and license
3-install dataprotector and license
5-propagate servixeguatd config
4-join the node to existing cluster
5-launch omniforsg.ksh secondary
6-start the package

Correct me if i'm wrong
