DP 10.50: PostgresQL Integration failed . Error 12:8019

Jump to solution

Hello all,

I'm stuck with configuring integration w/ postgresQL 9.6, running on Centos 9.6. CM is Windows 2016. It's a new installation.

1. Instance browsing gives error "Unable to browse Instance"

2. After manually  entering instance name and user/group, giving all the credentials the process fails with  "Error 12:8019. Integration failed"

Hello @CptCarrot,

It seems this might be a known issue (reference OCTCR19Q334244). Do you have a case with software support already?

Hello

Please check that all pre-requesites are OK

  • Ensure that you have correctly installed and configured the PostgreSQL database server.
  • Ensure that you have correctly installed Data Protector.
  • Ensure that you have configured Data Protector backup devices and backup media according to your PostgreSQL backup policy (data protection) needs.
  • Ensure that the PostgreSQL operating system user account that you choose for running PostgreSQL backup and restore sessions has a corresponding Data Protector user configured in the Data Protectoradmin or operator user group.
  • Test whether a PostgreSQL host and the Cell Manager can communicate properly by configuring and running a Data Protector filesystem backup and restore session on the PostgreSQL host.
  • Identify the absolute path to the PostgreSQL binaries directory on the PostgreSQL host.
  • Configure PostgreSQL user if it does not exist.
  • The WAL archiving must be enabled on each PostgreSQL instance whose data will be backed up with Data Protector backup.

If everything is OK please reproduce issue in debug mode and provide us or support team debugs for check it.

Best Regards

Hello @Sebastian.Koehler ,

looks like you nailed it. Installation path  is indeed non-default.

Will open a case and check if the fix will fix it (!)

Thanks for your advice.

Hello,

Sorry, but: no.

Support says: CentOS is not supported.

Thanks for your effort.

Hi @CptCarrot,

I hope a support statement for CentOS is added soon. I have voted for your Idea in Idea Exchange.
