DP 6.0 Loadning next medium "Cannot open device (Invalid device file type.)"

Does anybody know why you sometimes get this message when loading the next tape media with Linux MA? Is there a parameter you can set to stop this happening?

With DP 6.0 on Linux, with latest MA patches applied, intermittently get "Cannot open device (Invalid device file type.)", when loading next medium during long multi-tape backup using SAN based tape libraries. Have seen this with MSL6030 and MSL6060, with last 2 versions of NSR firmware, Ultrium-3 and Ultrium-4 tape drives and at least last 2 versions of Linux MA patch. All tapes have been formatted with DP, and test scan of "failing" tape will always work afterwards. Re-run of the backup using the same tape often works without a problem.

Here is an example DP session log:

Re: DP 6.0 Loadning next medium "Cannot open device (Invalid device file type.)"

Most probably you have paths changed for a device somehow. Try to check "automatically discover changed SCSI address" in drive and robotic configurations (devices & media -> devices -> -> -> properties -> drive -> automatically discover changed SCSI address). Also check if any non-DP services are using or locking this device.

Have a similar problem in DP6.21 but just with LTO03 Tape drives. After rerun it works. Any help would be appriciated..
