DP 6.0 patches on HPUX and Red Hat 5

Jump to solution
Hi,
we have a windows 6.0 DP cell manager and backup up several servers. Two of them has HPUX b11.23 and
Linux red hat 5. These servers are both media servers and I need to upgrade their ma og da from 5.5 to 6.0 version.
What sw patches do I need and do the install require any high unix skills.

thanks

hi ;

you need to upgrade ux installation server to 6.0 first . it needs a bit unix knowledge to perform this task . after upgradeing to installation server to 6.0 you have to apply current patches located at

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3241177&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=3241176&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=7#165328

each download page will help you how to install these patch.

after applying patches you can easily upgrade ux based clients.

Hi
Thanks for answer.
We do not have a unix installation server.
Can we do a local install?

without an installation server, patching is very painfull . you have to apply all patches one by one to each client. it is not a normal process rhis patch installation.

if I were you, I would install an is to one hpux server. in fact it is very easy that solution.

Hi

I find instructions for local install in the manual - installation and licensing guide. (se below)
Is this a way to do it on HPUX?
And is core, ma and da the 3 pathes I need?

Thanks

The example below shows how you can install the Disk Agent,
General Media Agent, User Interface, and Informix components
on a client that will be automatically imported to the cell with the
Cell Manager anapola:
./omnisetup.sh -server anapola.company.com -install
da,ma,cc,informix
