Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hi Thomas,
my SAP ERP is running on Windows 2008 Server. I can see two possible reasons for this issue.

1. The reason can be in brtools version. I am using 7.00 version patch 36 which works, patch 40 doesn't. But the SAP system which uses working brtools version 7.00 patch 36 runs on Windows 2003 and the affected SAP system which runs brtools version 7.00 patch 40 runs on Windows 2008 Server.

2. The reason can be in Windows version. Windows 2003 works and Windows 2008 doesn't. Maybe some kind of additional security. This possibility seems to me much more probable.

Now I am trying to find general reasons for error "The device does not recognize the command".

Zdenek

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hi,

look at the support matrix:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01631170/c01631170.pdf

page 11 you can see BRTools 7.0 or 7.1 are only supportet for Windows Server 2003 64bit. I think the Problem is the security architecture in 2008.
I have test with 7.0 and 7.1 and I have the same error.

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hello,

After upgrading DP to 6.11 i have almost the same errors. It seems that after reaching 450 G the backup stops running, and after 2 hours the session is aborting with the error

The OB2BAR Backup DA named "PRD" on host "PRD "reached its inactivity timeout of 7200 seconds.
The agent on host will be shutdown.

The only error i see in the debug.log =
4-1-2010 19:58:53 OMNITRIG.2916.2896 ["lib/cmn/win32exe.c /main/hsl_dp61/hsl_hpit2_2/3":699] A.06.11 b243
Process already exited ? with value 0x00000001!

4-1-2010 21:00:06 BSM.2748.6932 ["lib/cmn/win32exe.c /main/hsl_dp61/hsl_hpit2_2/3":699] A.06.11 b243
Process already exited ? with value 0x00000000!.

This is only when doing a full backup, archive backup is no problem.

Anybody an idea how to solve this.

I didnt had this issue in DP 6.0

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hello Thomas,

I have got exactly same issue as you:

[Critical] From: OB2BAR_BACKINT@ "" Time: 11/16/2009 8:18:09 AM
Error: Cannot open file: "D:\oracle\\sapbackup\.bebxrinp.lst"

It seems the issue is due to DP supports Brtools on windows 2003 but not 2008, which is our case.

Anyway, have you found a solution or a workaround?

Thanks...

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hello,

we have the same error with our Solution Manager and CRM 7.0 on Windows Server 2008.
The *.lst file appears for a few seconds but there is no access from DP 6.11

debug.log:
OB2BAR_BACKINT.4764.9000 ["integ/sap/backint.c /main/hsl_dp61/hsl_hpit2_2/4":3594] A.06.11 b243
[main] fopen(E:\oracle\\sapbackup\.becisdnn.lst, "r") failed. Error: [22] The device does not recognize the command.

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

We had this problem after we upgraded to DP 6.1 and solved it by adding the following to the omnirc file:

OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1

These other two are in there too but our *IX guys added them so not positive on their importance.
OB2SHMEM_IPCGLOBAL=1
OB2FORCESCIOLSTOP=1

If you had these options set before sometimes the upgrade will overwrite the file, erasing your settings.

We have a problem where our Oracle jobs are just hanging even before they load a tape and the only way to clear it is aborting the job. On the phone with support now.

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

BTW. I didn't get an email for it but there are already new patches for DP 6.11. They came out on the 19th.

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hi,

on witch omnirc file do you have change the value? On SAP Client or Cellmanager?
I have installed the DP Patches and insert your value and restart the services.
but I have the same error:

[Critical] From: OB2BAR_BACKINT@ "" Time: 1/29/2010 8:19:46 AM
Error: Cannot open file: "D:\oracle\\saparch\.aeclrcqu.lst".

Re: DP 6.11 / SAP R3

Hello,

you should open a business escalation. It is definitely a backint/Windows Server 2008 problem.
Unfortunately SAP CRM 7.0 requires Windows Server 2008.

Best regards,
André
