(DP) Support Tip: Import fails on HPUX client when inetd security is enabled.

Remote installation works but import fails.

Both /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services look OK.

There is no firewall running.

Inetd.log is empty, or it doesn't exit.

If you enable inetd logging by running this:

# inetd -l

# inetd -c

You will probably see an error like this in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log ->

Aug 16 08:25:05 systemA inetd[1660]: omni/tcp: Access denied for systemA (xxx.
.yyy.zzz.B) at Wed Aug 16 08:25:05 2017

This error means that access has been denied in /var/adm/inetd.sec or has been authorized only to some specific hosts with a line like this:

omni allow systemX

omni deny systemA

Comment these lines in /var/adm/inetd.sec  and reload inetd configuration (inetd -c) and the problem should be resolved.

If there are no custom lines in inetd.sec, check also hosts.allow and hosts.deny for any rules denying access to the cell manager or allowing access only to some specific hosts.
