Hi @connection

Data Protector client is not running always. Just one process, the Inet.

You can check it with these commands:

  • Windows: sc query omniinet
  • Linux: service xinetd status
  • HP-UX: inetd -a

Maybe some OS have different commands to check the Inet process running.

Simply verify with telnet client.

telnet client portnumber

example C:\Users\Administrator>telnet backup 5565

If Agent working well, You will get below messages after timeout.

================================================================

Micro Focus Data Protector A.10.70: INET, internal build 210, built on 2020??5??6???섏슂?? ?ㅼ쟾 2:26

=================================================================

If you don't get this messages. Maybe another program listen or block by security things

if you want to check status for agent. just check DP Inet port listen

Windows : netstat -na | findstr 5565 | findstr LISTENING

Linux & HP-UX : netstat -na | grep 5565 | grep LISTEN

Hi @connection

Having access where the installation pack is, you can run this command:

csetup.exe -quiet INSTALLATIONTYPE=Client INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Omniback" PROGRAMDATA="C:\ProgramData\OmniBack" ADDLOCAL=core,da,ma,cc NETFW=1

For the ADDLOCAL you can add all the components you want, like mssql, e2010, oracle8 and so on.

I'm not sure. I think "-server hostname" option will work.

That option is to enable the ports into Windows Firewall.

For documentation or options, I do not have them. I got that command in an older case I saw.

No, it's 1. That is 1 or 0. Enable or not enable the ports in the firewall.
