anybody knows when formal support of DP on AIX 7.1 platform will be announced?

any news on this one? shouldn't be a problem at all, aix 7.1 is binary compatible to aix 6.1

ps: of course u can fake the uname output to let dp think it's still aix 6.1 just replace /bin/uname with your own script. not very sexy but it's better than having no backup at all 😉

Good news. The support for AIX 7.1 is now available for Data Protector 6.21. It is delivered in fix QCCR2A31498.

Hi.

    DP 6.21's DA should work correctly on AIX 7.1. The MA might have issues due to IBM's insistence on dynmaic tracking support. If you get errors with tape drives, then you'll have to contact HP Support to get a fix for that.
