Re: Error in SAP Online backup

Hello,

In the Brbackup_Online  the util_file device type is used for backup.

Here tablespaces are in the backup mode (locked) during the whole backup session.

Ensure that your backup_dev_type = util_file in the configuration file of the integration located into your SAP client.  If the backup_dev_type  has a different parameter rather than util_file, then change it.

To list all the Data Protector SAP R/3 configuration file parameters for the Oracle instance ICE, use the following command on the Data Protector SAP R/3 client:

util_cmd -getconf SAP ICE

Also, data Protector stores the integration parameters for every configured SAP R/3 database in the following file on the Cell Manager:

On UNIX:
/etc/opt/omni/server/integ/config/SAP/client_name%ORACLE_SID

On Windows:
Data_Protector_home\Config\Server\Integ\Config\Sap\client_name%ORACLE_SID

If this does not help, then I suggest you open a support ticket.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Make sure your backup is linked OK.

1. Verify with /opt/omni/lbin/util_sap.exe -CHKCONF <sid>

2. Make sure the oracle account (in out case SYSTEM) in in the v$pwfile_users with the right rights.

SQL} select * from v$pwfile_users;

USERNAME SYSDB SYSOP SYSAS

------------------------------ ----- ----- -----

SYS TRUE TRUE FALSE

SYSTEM TRUE TRUE FALSE

3. Check the password the account you use for the oracle backup (in our SYSTEM) works by logging in to SQL

4. Make sure your node is configured correctly in Data Protector and can connect.  Go to Backup->Pick an oracle backup->Properties->right click and check configuration.
