HP Data Protector 9 - VM Backup - Sometimes checkpoint were left in Hyper-v After a full Session

Good Morning everyone,

I have some schedules of Virtual Evironment configured and we only have full sessions schedules.

They are finishing wihtout errors, but. I noticed that all my VM's are keeping the checkpoints that DP created with VSS during the execution sometimes. I said sometimes because its not seasonal, sometimes the checkpoints have been deleted and sometimes they dont.

Does someone have an ideia about it? I dont have error logs, my configuration seems to be alright.

Version of DP that I use: 9.0

Patch level instaled in physical hyper-v host

Hello victoraugustoflorenc,

This looks like a known issue documented here:

The fix is available since DP 9.04. I see in the screenshot with the patches that you have 9.03. So this apply in your case.

Any way, I will suggest to upgrade to 9.09, the fix is also included and this version is recommended in DP 9 family.

Hope that resolves your issue,

I hope to make a comment.

Looking at your issue, I would recommend the following:

1. Update to the latest DP 9.09 patches for CM and DP clients (DA, MA, GUI and Integration module).

2. Log a SW DP case if you still have the same issue even after update to 9.09.

Looks to be very intermittent and so I would take out DP as a factor by having the latest binaries (9.09) and then engage DP support so this can be investigated further, as I am suspecting this to be outside of DP.

Nothing conclusive for now, and so better that this be worked with the next available DP support.

Hope this helps
