How to disable DB2 - Archived log backup?

Hi,

DB2 Archived_Logs_Backup - Used for backing up only archived logs. This type of backup specification can be saved, but not started or scheduled. It is used every time the User Exit program starts the backup of archived logs.

Question is:
How to temporarily disable DB2 - Archived log backup, without Shutting down Cell Manager?
Let's say, for example, because of: "omnidbutil -purge -filenames -force"
which Requires exclusive access to the IDB.

Thanks & Regards,
Tom

Re: How to disable DB2 - Archived log backup?

Hi,

simpliest way is just to rename barlists, barschedules, datalists and schedules folder. This will prevent any backup to start, even if it is started from external script. And if you have consolidation and copy jobs too, rename the folders copylists and consolidationlists.

Don't forget to rename these folders back after you did your maintenance.

Best regards

Daniel

Re: How to disable DB2 - Archived log backup?

Hi danielbraun,

Thanks for tips,
I think that simpliest way is command:
omnitrig -stop
and after maintenance:
omnitrig -start

But it doesn't stop "DB2 - Archived log backup"

i will try with renaming:
...\BarLists\db2
...\Barschedules\db2
for that.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi,

If renaming folder, I receive critical notification:
