IPC Read Error System error: [10053] Software caused connection abort

Jump to solution

hI,

Im a cell manager cell.ad.com and my client it's client.dom.gi.in.

I managed to deploy the client without any problems.

I manage to make the selection. But when I run the job I have the following message

[Major] From: BSM@cell.ad.com "test"  Time: 6/11/2012 11:19:39 AM
[61:3003]      Lost connection to VBDA named "D: [Data]"
    on host client.dom.gi.in.
    Ipc subsystem reports: "IPC Read Error
    System error: [10053] Software caused connection abort
"

I tried several things without success.

How you configure your backup in another domain?

I find the solution.

We must put the following value OB2INETTIMEOUT=10 in the file of the client omnirc

http://www.data-protector.org/wordpress/2012/05/dp-7-0-omnirc-variable/

Data protector 7.0

hi,

These types of errors tell us there was a network problem during the backup that prevented Data Protector from maintaining an open connection between the cell server, disk and media agents, and therefore the backup was aborted.  Data Protector is reporting the problem but usually Data Protector itself is functioning correctly.

Poor network performance causes overloaded connections between Disk Agent systems and the Media Agent system, resulting in connection drops and finally the session timeouts and the backup is aborted.

try with this variable:

- Activate omnirc by renaming to lose Template extension.

UNIX systems   /opt/omni/mv .omnirc.TMPL .omnirc

WINDOWS   \Program Files\OmniBack>copy omnirc.TMPL omnirc

Add the following uncommented statements to the system's omnirc file:

OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1

OB2SHMIPC=0

Details:

OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1 to all clients DA + MA.  The keepalive parameter just turns on the system mechanism for keeping connection alive for all the connection we make.

OB2SHMIPC=0 should be set on the cell manager and all client systems (at least to the systems reporting Critical and Abort errors).  Improves handling of shared memory and may improve Network throughput.

Hello ,

I am using DP 7 with cell manager on windows 2008R2. I am also getting same error as mentioned above on few servers and try to edit the variable,

OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1

OB2SHMIPC=0

in the omnirc file, but could not find the defined value as above. I checked both on client and cell manager and couldn't find any entry of the the variable in the file.

Any help?

That's OK, you can add it at the end.

To edit the files you might like http://hpux.de/category/DPcfgCreator/

Includes the most relevant recommended settings for a DP 7.x cell manager and can create the config files for all clients.

Hello All,

Tried to rename the omnirc.tmpl file to omnirc and then added the entry of

OB2IPCKEEPALIVE=1

OB2SHMIPC=0

on client & cell manager but still backup failing.
