Import host failed

Hi,

Please your help, we have a client Win2012 with 9.00 agent, but we can't import to a CM 10.60:

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>omnicc -secure_comm -configure_exception srv011.local.com
Host 'srv011.local.com' configured successfully.

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin>omnicc -import_host srv011.local.com
[12:1625] Import host failed.
buf

Telnet between CM and the client (and viceversa) is functioning.

For the moment, we can't upgrade the agent to 10.60 (because a scheduled reboot because de Windows UAC reconfig) so we reinstalled the 9.00 agent but we can't import again to the CM.

Waiting your comments

Regards!

Rafael

Hi,

An update: We have already managed to update the agent to 10.60 but still it is not possible to import the client, it even detects the fingerprint, it is accepted but the import fail, does Windows UAC have something to do with it?

Regards

Rafael

Hi,

We can resolve the issue, for some reason, the upgrade through GUI from 9.x to 10.60 is not functioning, the error is:

[Critical] <srv001.int.com> System is not compliant for Microsoft Visual Studio redistributable installation or required UCRT components are unavailable.
See the "Windows OS and patch levels" section of the latest Data Protector documentation for compliance information.

The troubleshooting was the following, but not functioned, we still had the error:

https://community.microfocus.com/t5/Data-Protector-User-Discussions/DP-10-40-windows-client-visual-c-installation-upgrade-problems/td-p/2684442

The solution was:

Uninstall the agent DP 9.09 and VSredist, verify that the DP service and agent was eliminated.

Open a CMD (Admin) execute the VCredist.ex and DP 10.60.msi

The import was success.

Regards

Rafael

I have other case that customer use SLES 12 SP5. When install DP on client, I can run command
#omnicc -secure_comm -configure_peer CM's name on client but on CM, i got some issue:
1. If i run command #omnicc -secure_comm -configure_peer client's name
-> I got the error message "
Secure communication protocol negotiation error when trying to establish a connection.
Check the validity of certificates and their configuration."
2. If i run command
#omnicc -secure_comm -configure_excetion on CM and client so it can run but i cannot run command
#omnicc -import_host client's name and get the error message "[12:1625] Import host failed"

I check with SLES 12 SP3 so it is the same. Please help to share the advice

Hi @Tran Thang

Check the INET port is the same in both. Do telnet test over Inet port using short name, FQDN and IP in both directions.

If that fails or if the  INET runs in different ports probably that is the issue.
