we do not have such enviroment, but do you have any problem? Did you check compatibility matrix for media agents?

Thanks for reply.
We have gone though some support matrix but no clear statment. As per support matrix
1) Document provides list of compatible OS and what component of DP (cell mgr, media agent, disk agent) can be used with that OS. As per this, we can have media agent in AIX but without the robotic arm control - meaning robotic arm will have to be controlled by say the Cell mgr.
2) document provides DP support for virtualisation - in this there is no mention of IBM LPARs running AIX.
3) We are planning to run DP media agent on AIX which runs in IBM LPAR
Kindly let us know your thought on it

Hi Kumar,
I've had Disk Agent running on LPAR without issues. No chance of using it as MA.
You should optimally let the cell manager to manage your robotics and only present tape drives into your box if you plan to do LAN free backup.
