Media copy LTO7 tape takes much too long

Hello!
I want to copy full LTO7 tapes to take one media out of the library.

A test finished after 16 hours!
Our library is a MSL6480 with fibre channel devices with the following configuration:
Block size 512k
Segment size 8000MB
Disk agent buffers 16

Are there best practises for copying a tape?

We use Data Protector 10.20 running on Windows Server 2016

Thanks and best regards,

Dirk

Hi,

Are you copying a cartridge within the same library? Or from one library to another?
If it's within the same library, check that both tape drivers have the same MA first in the list of MA

Hello Eblyn!
I checked the drive properties and it looks like that:

W2k16-DP01-SCSI-Drive.PNG

We have a multipath FC, so there are 2 configured paths, but the SCSI address of data drive is empty.

What is to do?

Thanks and regards,

Dirk

hi,

are both the same?
I see they only use one server as MA, I think your problem may be the tape drive has a problem or you are missing the latest drivers for LTO in your operating system,
I would recommend you open a case with HPE to have those two issues checked.
