NEW! Data Protector NDMP Integration Quickstart Guide

Hi All,

A new DP 6.2 white paper Data Protector NDMP Integration Quickstart Guide is now available.

This white paper provides quick start information on integrating Data Protector with the HP X9000 Network Storage System or NetApp FAS3070 Universal Storage System, for NDMP (Network Data Management Protocol) based backup tasks where the backup target is a HP StoreOnce Backup System.

Please let us know if you find this tool useful!

Re: NEW! Data Protector NDMP Integration Quickstart Guide

Have you read the whitepaper? Data Protector only supports FC and/or SCSI attached devices and this is also true for X9000. So the answer is yes, a FC connection is the way it is implemented.

Sebastian

Re: NEW! Data Protector NDMP Integration Quickstart Guide

I believe that dc for X9720 is not supported and the way to do this is to install the DP agents on the X9720.

Re: NEW! Data Protector NDMP Integration Quickstart Guide

I've checked the X9000 documentation and it does support FibreChannel drives. Sure, this requires additional FC ports on the device, but this is something common for all NDMP setups. Add some additional adapters and you should be fine.
