Overall Deduplication Ratio

I have noticed that my backup statistics have changed;

Previously it would look like this;

Overall Deduplication Ratio .. -

===========================================

Mbytes Total ................. 1028167 MB

Used Media Total ............. 1

Disk Agent Errors Total ...... 0

Now it looks like this:

Overall Deduplication Ratio .. 1296263

===========================================

Mbytes Total ................. 2 MB

Used Media Total ............. 0

Disk Agent Errors Total ...... Weekly Backup

Can anyone shed some light on what is happening.  The backup times and sizes are similar.

Re: Overall Deduplication Ratio

Hi Craig.

     These kind of mismatches tend to appear when a test binary sends a message that is not fully understood by DP's message catalog. Have you received a test binary or a DP catalog file from HP for some other issue? If yes, then you can point out this problem to the relevant support engineer, who should be able to arrange a compatible set of modules for you.

Regards,

Shishir

Re: Overall Deduplication Ratio

Where you're seeing the reports, on server or in other machine?

I had this issue just after update my environment.

When I was seeing the reports on the server it did not happen. Only happen in the client side. The problem was solved applying the updates in the user interface on the machine  where I usually see the reports.

Re: Overall Deduplication Ratio

I found a lab case where a similiar problem was fixed with a test binary.  If you are already using DP 7.03, you would need to open a case with the response center, and refer to

QCIM2A46109 QCIM2A45607_TM1 Results in incorrect size reported for "Mbytes Total"
