RHEL 8.1 Cell and Catalyst Support

Jump to solution

Looking to migrate from a HP-UX cell to a RHEL 8.1 cell manager.  Now that the RHEL 8 is supported as a cell manager, it does not look like Catalyst is supported.  We use catalyst shares to our StoreOnce device for backups.

When will this be officially supported?  Thanks

If you are referring to the latest version of DP (10.80/2020.08) then it seems to support Catalyst on RHEL 8 - take a look at the platform support matrix  and you will see that RHEL 6, 7, 8 are listed under "StoreOnce Application Source and Backup Server Deduplication using Catalyst".

Hello @Juiceman863

This question goes more to the Idea Exchange forum, because here we are not aware of what and when will be released any feature or support.
In that forum already one Idea about this has been accepted, so it should be soon: https://community.microfocus.com/t5/Data-Protector-Idea-Exchange/Catalyst-support-for-RHEL-8/idi-p/2807381

As a recommendation, what you can do is use another server with a supported OS to run the catalyst for now.
