Hi @Tony1

Do you have the documentation now or do you need it? If you have it attach it to the thread, we'll appreciate that.

Hello @Tony1

I understand better now.

This restore should be as normal and documented procedure. Please check this link or the documentation for your specific version:

Hello Andres Fallas Salazar

Thanks for the documentation.
When performing the restore, the error message appears: [12: 8414] The selected Oracle database instance has never been configured.
What I am doing is the following: the Oracle database to be restored (SID: bd1), presents ip "x"; and a new server with ip "y" with SID bd2 is prepared.
In the GUI of the data protector 9, the base to be restored (bd1) was selected and in the source tab, the action was selected to perform restore and recovery.
Then in the options tab, the new server where the restoration will be made is selected and the requested data is entered in the setting (user and password of connection and the new SID bd2).
Finally the device to use is chosen, and again I return to the souce tab and it generates the error [12: 8414] The selected Oracle database instance has never been configured.

Inform yourself that the new host was zoned and the new database (bd2) was configured in the data protector.

They could help me in correcting the error.

Hello @Tony1

Did you already run a backup of this target database? This is needed to configure the db on DP.

Also, try to add the following variable on the omnirc file on the client: OB2_ORARESTHOSTNAME=SourceHostname
