Re: SAP Online Backup

Hi,

did you resolve this issue ?
We've got the same problem here with half of our servers on the domain.

Our DP is 6.00 with DPWIN_00431 for the core component.

Re: SAP Online Backup

Add this variable in the file Global (path=:\Config\Server\Options\Global)in the Cell Manager:

EnableSCSIReserveRelease=1

Re: SAP Online Backup

Has anyone tried this?

That setting in the Global has the followin entry:

# EnableSCSIReserveRelease=0 or 1

# default: 0
# If set to 1, this option enables access to the SCSI
# reserve/release functionality used with library robotics.
# Set this variable only after consulting the Hewlett-Packard
# support. General use of this variable is not supported, unless
# prior agreement from Hewlett-Packard support is obtained.

Re: SAP Online Backup

Yes i have the exact same issue as original poster. Backup is ok except for that critical error at end.

Sorry for silly question but how do I reintegrate all over again?

Re: SAP Online Backup

Hi,

Our log shows an error when the DP process tries to generate the oracle control file at the end of the backup.

So we think our problem is due to a missing right on the oracle database for the dp user who initiates the backup.

Our assumption is that the error comes from that the "data protector inet" services runs with a local system account instead of a user with oracle rights.

Our backups with this last configuration are working fine.
