Re: SuSE NSS files system 64 bit
From the Data Protector 6.21 Online help...
About Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) Backup
The backup procedure for Novell OES is the same as the standard backup procedure on Novell NetWare, with some Novell OES-specific aspects.
Prerequisites
The Data Protector Disk Agent must be installed on the Novell OES system.
The Target Service Agent for file system must be loaded in dual mode (for example, TSAFS.NLM on Novell NetWare 6.5).
The user account used to log in to Novell OES backup services must be selected and saved to the file HPLOGIN.NLM. Any user account can be used, but the files and directories for backup will be limited to those of the user account.
To use backup devices connected to a Novell OES system in Data Protector, install the General Media Agent for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9.0 on the Novell OES system.
Storage Management Services (SMS) must be installed on the Novell OES system. Shared libraries used by SMS must be installed in the folder /opt/novell/lib: libsmdr.so, libsmsut.so, and libtsafs.so.
What is backed up?
Native Linux volumes (note that native Linux file system can be restored to an NSS volume on an OES system).
NSS volumes (note that an NSS volume on an OES or NetWare system can be restored to native Linux file system).
NSS cluster volumes.
NetWare traditional file system and NSS volumes on a NetWare system can be restored to an NSS volume on an OES system, or to a native Linux volume (the data is restored, while the file system attributes are lost).
The following can be backed up on NSS volumes:
Files and directories on NSS volumes
Full volumes and mount points of NSS volumes
Compressed NSS volumes
Busy files on NSS volumes
Volume Space Restrictions of NSS volumes
The directory structure and the files are backed up. Along with the files and directories, the following file system information is backed up:
Name space information
Trustee information
Inherited right mask
File and directory attributes
Time attributes (creation date/time, modification date/time, last accessed date/time, last modified date/time, last archived date/time)
Volume and directory space restrictions
To back up volume restrictions, select the whole volume object for backup.
Owner
Owning name space
Search mode
Extended attributes
Extended attributes can be installed as a Novell NetWare addition.

Sebastian
