Update DP 10.40 from 9.09

Hello,

We want go by a new Library

HPE MSL3040 Scalable Base Module 2x HPE MSL LTO-8 FC Drive Upgrade Kit.

In my Opinion 9.09 will not support it.
My Cell Server is on Windows 2012 R2.

Is it possible to update directly from Version 9.09 to 10.40?
Do I have to get new license file or is it the same?

Hi

About upgrade, In short: Yes, you can. 

You MUST have 16GB minimum to run Data Protector. It will not work with less than 16GB.

About licenseing:

Old license ( 9 and below) doesn't work with new releases (10 or above)

You must have a valid active support agreement in place in order to be eligible for new license passwords according to the type and quantity of licenses listed in your support agreement.

Where I can order a permanent password. I didn`t found it in the license management Site?

Must I open a support case ?

Yes, you should do open a ticket and asking for a new lic. key for 10.40

When you open the case make sure that is for licences team, not technical support. They are who can give you the licenses.

I contact License Support and they send me a License for DP 10 0n 7/10/2019

That`s fine...

I want download the Software today on the Download Page but it is not activated for me to download version 10.

What can I do?

If you click download you will be able to find the software even when the licenses does not look migrated. 

Am I wrong?

Hello Victor,

You are wrong.

I try it in this way.

I received an error message that I need a active subscription and I checked it

see Attachment.

I have a active subscription until 09/30/2019

I look`s like my subscription is not activated???

I guess, if you can't  wait much time for solving this problem, you can download a trial version of 10.40 and add your lic. key:

I had contact my reseller today to solve the Problem.

I will not have more problem`s in the future.
