Which version of OS on Cell Manager should use?

Hi everyone.

I am making a solution to backup my Virtual machine from VMware by DP 9.09

My environment is VMWare 6.0 with many kind of VM guest OS (Windows 2016, 2019, RHEL12,...).

vCenter server is Windows 2012 R2 Server.

So Which version of OS on CM I should use?

Hello HungPQ,

I have running the following combination without any errros. DP 9.09 + Patches on Windows Server 2016. I installed DP on this Os from another DP 9.09 Installation Server Depot with all Patches installed. Then you can install DP 9 on Windows 2016 without any problems. My Vcenter was on Windows 2012. Now I have a new VCenter running as appliance which is also working fine.

I am planning the upgrade to DP 10.30 and VCenter Appliance 6.7U2.

Hello @HungPQ

DP 9 is under Extended Support, so you will have limited support to this version.

The current version under full support is DP 10.

The documentation is here: https://docs.microfocus.com/DP/
Under Install > Support Matrix. Check the supported OS for CMs.

In that documentation is also the installation process.
