documentation /var/opt/omni/log/AppServer/server.log

Jump to solution

Data Protector Version: 8.1

Hello can someone please explain the functionality of /var/opt/omni/log/AppServer/server.log? What is the AppServer directory for? I notice when I look into this folder, I see files such as

DPServer.log

boot.log

server.log

and a bunch of older compressed server.log

server.log.YYYY-MM-DD.gz

Much Thanks in advance

Not much documentation on this.  It is part fo the APplication Server service

Application Server
• name: hpdp-as
• default port: 7116
• This service is service accessible through https connection; https requires a certificate.

The JBoss Application Server – The Application Server service provides web
services for components used by DP: hpdp-as ; Default port number: 7116

This service is accessible through a secured https connection; https requires a certificate.
To allow GUI clients to connect to this port, it has to be opened for external access in a firewall configuration.

Helpful might also be the Application Server log files. The JBoss AS log files can be found in DP_DATA_DIR/log/App_Server/server.log :

(Unix systems) DP_DATA_DIR/log/App_Server/server.log
With namely the files:
server.log (current log)
server.log. <YYYY-MM-DD> (daily backups)
boot.log

and this is about all that is says.  It appears to be logging each time the GUI connects to teh IDB

Thank you for the quick response, the information you provided gives me the sense that the logging is working properly and my error is elsewhere.
