integrated VMWARE backup.

Hi, i am doing VMware Linux server backup using integrated backup. Server has 2 hard drives 100gb and 2TB each.

real data on the server altigether 30GB, but it takes long time as DP sees whole 2.1TB storage. hard drives have thin provisionnig. should i change to to backup using Agent on the server? what will be you recomendation.

Do you use the old VMWARE Integration or the new VEPA/VirtualEnvironment Integ?

If you use the latter try enabling change block tracking, that only saves the used blocks, assuming the Disk hasn't been written full so far. 

You can also try optimize disk option but that usually just takes up time and resources on the vCenter/ESX

Hello

Are you using DP9? CBT (Change Block Tracking) should be activated to benefit from thin provisioning. If the VM has CBT activated, it should only backup the allocated block of your VM.
