can someone please explained me what is this backup option in DP 8.1 for?and how can i use it

Hi,

 

the VSS Integration can be used to backup VSS aware applications or filesystems.

Normally you would not need this special integration. As example Exchange is backed up using the Exchange Integration, SharePoint using the SharePoint Integration and Filesystem backups are done using the Disk Agent.

 

So even if the the above backups would use VSS in the back, the integration is not required to backup those applications.
