I want to know if there is a chance we can recover space from the aborted sessions that have written data on a tape, independetly if it's a permanent o temporary backup.

Hi enriquerocha,

tape is a sequential backup media. If a session or object on that sequential backup media expires (could be recycled, session removed, protection expires) it remains on tape as long as other protected objects exist. You can append to the media until full. If all sessions/objects on the media are expired it can reused (completly).
