Oracle 12.1 introduced the DBMS_ROLLING package to simplify the process of implenting a patchset/upgrade using the rolling upgrade process with a transient logical standby. This feature will be further enhanced in 12.2.

Are there any plans to use this functionality in DMA workflows?

Hello,

Product management at this point is planning enhancements for Oracle 12 in future releases, we will log the improvements in the release notes of the future DMA release. Another option is to log an ER with us so you can track the enhancement. Thanks!

Our product currently supports rolling patching process inside of a cluster for Oracle quarterly patches in 12c and as the other post indicated more of the newer 12c introduced features for Rolling upgrades are being considered in our roadmap planning for future releases.
