Resetting Suppression and Filter files in ErrorDetection( BoundsChecker)

Problem:

The current suppressions and filters generated under Error Detection  ( BoundsChecker) are no longer required for the application being profiled.

Resolution:

To reset the Suppression and Filter files to default, follow the outlined steps below:

1. If Visual Studio is running exit Visual Studio .

2. Locate the project or executable directories for that application.

3. Delete any files with the extensions below:

  • *.DPrul
  • *.DPFlt
  • *.DPSup

4. Relaunch Visual Studio and profile the application, or launch standalone Error Detection and profile the application. The previous suppressions and filters in effect should no longer be present.
