New report: this plugin is not supported on Sentinel platfor

Hi,

I’m using Sentinel 7, SLES 11, SDK 6.1.r5, Eclipse 3.4.2, done all
configurations described in 'Sentinel Development Environment'
(http://www.novell.com/developer/sentinel_development_environment.html)
but when I upload the new report I receive an error “Unable to Import
the Plugin. This plugin testing_test01_6.1r1 is not supported on
Sentinel platform”.

I just create a new report in “ant > reports > new”, defined a name and
category, configuration, SentinelRD + Sentinel Log Manager, executed
“build-release” and uploaded, getting this error. I tried with events,
only SentinelRD, only Sentinel Log Manager and got the same error.

What do I’m doing wrong?

Re: New report: this plugin is not supported on Sentinel platfor

Ok, I did.

I edited the plugin.properties file changing “platforms” from
“SentinelRD+Sentinel Log Manager” (or just “Sentinel Log Manager”) to
“Sentinel Log Manager+Sentinel” (or just “Sentinel”) and could upload
and run the report. I did this change since most Sentinel reports comes
with this code in package.xml file:

Code:
--------------------

<SupportedSentinelPlatforms>
<SupportedSentinelPlatform>
<PlatformName>Sentinel</PlatformName>
</SupportedSentinelPlatform>
<SupportedSentinelPlatform>
<PlatformName>Sentinel Log Manager</PlatformName>
</SupportedSentinelPlatform>
</SupportedSentinelPlatforms>

--------------------

Is this the correct way? If yes, I tried to change “build-reports.xml”
to generate automatically “plugin.prorpeties” file with this parameter
without success. There is a way to do this?

Re: New report: this plugin is not supported on Sentinel platfor

You are correct in that the older version of the SDK only supports the
Sentinel RD and Sentinel Log Manager platform types...and yes, unless
you have a supported platform type of "Sentinel" in the plug-in's
package.xml, you won't be able to upload a report into a Sentinel 7
system... and yes, adding the "Sentinel" platform type directly to your
report's plugin.properties file as you have done is probably the easiest
way get "Sentinel" added as a "SupportedSentinelPlatform" when you build
the plug-in.

Unfortunately, in that older version of the sdk, the build-reports.xml
script does some specific checks on the platform selection, so there is
not really any "easy" instructions I can give to help modify the
build-reports.xml script yourself to add the "Sentinel platform entry.
I suppose if you were really comfortable with modifying ant scripts, the
easiest place by which to add the "Sentinel" supported platform entry
would be in the "_pkg-addplats" target in the dev/sdk/build/build.xml
file.... as that is where the supported platforms are added to the
plug-in's package.xml file.

THE RECOMMENDED THING TO DO, however, would be to just get a hold of
the latest Sentinel SDK.... which has been updated to properly handle
Sentinel, Sentinel RD and Sentinel Log Manager reports... and also has
many other improvements to simplify the entire report development
process. The latest SDK is currently in the Beta 2 phase... and you may
contact us SentinelBeta@novell.com if you would like to participate in
that.

If you provide some more information about the "processing undefined"
error you are experiencing, I may be able to help.

Or as mentioned above, it may just be best to get a hold of the latest
Sentinel SDK.... which has been updated to properly handle Sentinel,
Sentinel RD and Sentinel Log Manager reports... and also has many other
improvements to simplify the entire report development process. The
latest SDK is currently in the Beta 2 phase... and you may contact us
