HP Diagnostics - Unlicensed Diagnostics Server

Hello,

I'm posting this on behalf of an HP partner that is working on an HP BSM /Diagnostics implementation.  When they try to log into Diagnostics they get the attached error which says “Unlicensed Diagnostics Server – The number of AM probes exceeded. (licensed for 0 but 17 AM probes are currently connected)"

Re: HP Diagnostics - Unlicensed Diagnostics Server

Hi Michaela,

There are 2 types of lic modes in Diag:

  • Application Management/Enterprise Mode (AM License) OS instances.
  • LoadRunner/Performance Center (AD License) OS instances.

Please refer to Install & Config guide in section: View license information >> License Information Based on Currently Connected Probes

When you install an agent, you are prompted to specify if the agent will be
configured in Application Management/Enterprise mode (AM License) to
work with a Diagnostics Server in a production environment.

When you install an agent, you are prompted to specify if the agent will be
configured in AD mode for LoadRunner and Performance Center runs.

According to screenshot your Diag server is running in AD mode, but Probes were probably installed in AM mode so  displayed message is correct.

Re: HP Diagnostics - Unlicensed Diagnostics Server

HI Kenneth,

Thank you for your response. Please help with below

1. As suggested if DG server is in AD mode and Agents are AM mode licensed,  Will data capture happen between DG Commander and Agent?

2. When capacity is given as 10 will only 10 Agents configured probe be able to communicate with DG Commander or other than 10 if more Agent configured probe  are installed(e.g 20)  all 20 probes data will be shown in DG Commander console ?

As we are getting the data for all 20 Agents configured Probe along with 12 Collector configured probe when the capcity displayed is only 10.

 3. Attached Screenshot for your referance. Please help with same.

Thanks.

Re: HP Diagnostics - Unlicensed Diagnostics Server

The data will be there in both cases, but the message warning will still appear.
