Lines of code and source lines are different metrics

The “Lines of Code” metric reported in MW is different from the “Source Lines” metric.

Problem:

“Lines of Code” and “Source Lines” are different metrics, reported against different objects.

Resolution:

“Lines of Code” is the number of lines of code, including copybooks or other types of included files, but not including comments and blank lines. The “Lines of Code” metric is reported against the following entities: C/C++ Function, C/C++Member Function, C/C++ Class, Java Method, Java Class, Java Interface, Java Package, Java File, Program, PB Method, PB Object, VB Class, VB Function, VB Method.

“Source Lines” is the number of lines of source in a file. “Source Lines” is reported against all source files.
