Permissions issues when installing Enterprise Analyzer 3.4


When installing the Enterprise Analyzer 3.4 product, the following error is displayed:

Component SQL Server 2008 R2 Express has failed to install with the following error message: "Access is Denied"

What is the cause of this and how can it be rectified?


The conclusion from the error message is that there is some kind of permissions problem.

The installation MUST be run "As Administrator". In Windows 7, the user ID performing the install, must have Administrator rights to the machine, not just be in the Administrator security group

From the more details MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Express logs, the issue is reported as a premissions error : Manage auditing and security log
