Unable to save new diagrams as EMF

Unable to save new diagrams as EMF

This article addresses saving a diagram in a modifiable format for the purposes of enhancement to show the existing and proposed future state.

Problem:

It would be nice to save diagrams in a modified format so that the existing state can be enhanced to show the proposed future state, however, these cannot be saved to an EMF file, and therefore cannot be edited by Word or another utility easily. This was a function that was existent previously in the product with the old views, is this still the case?

Resolution:

With the new technology behind the diagrams, there is no way of saving these to EMF format. Saving the diagram to any of the formats .png, .bmp, .jpg, etc. allows for editing in other products. Microsoft Paint can edit the diagram just as well. Attached to this article are 2 images, one before the edit by MS Paint and one after the edit by MS Paint.

Old KB# 14395
