Using Host Integration Server 2012 with a 32bit CICS Region on Windows 64bit Server

Host Integration Server (HIS) 2010 is a server product from Microsoft that allows you to integrate IBM mainframe applications with the WIndows platform. HIS allows you to link a CICS region on Enterprise Developer with the mainframe using the SNA Network protocol. It allows CICS APPC and CICS Intersystem communication features (such as DPL , Function Shipping) to work between the Windows CICS region and the mainframe.

On a 64bit Windows Server HIS will install as a 64 bit application and will not function correctly with a 32bit CICS region on Windows. This is because HIS doesn't support 32bit applications on a 64bit Windows install.

Support for this was introduced in Cumulative Update 2 for HIS 2010. You will need to contact Microsoft to obtain this update.
