MFEEE to Enterprise Developer

There is an Import for NEX projects into Enterprise Developer.  Is there an equivalent "Import" for MFE Projects?

RE: MFEEE to Enterprise Developer

Hi Tim,

There is not an equivalent Import function within Enterprise Developer for importing MFE projects. Much of the configuration including data, resource definitions, the catalog etc can come straight across to Enterprise Developer but MFE propjects cannot be directly imported. Typically Mainframe Express projects are more complex than Net Express projects.

Micro Focus has developed a field developed solution available through our services team that assists with this process. This automaticallty catalogues MFE projects on a target machine, exports these to XML format using the MFECL command line and reads in this XML to display the results graphically. This will then allow you to determine what elements of the MFE project to migrate. You then have the option to create template Eclipse or Studio based projects that can be imported directly into Enterprise Developer.

This is not a completed automated solution but takes away much of the "heavy lifting". I would recommend you request a demo of this utlity from your account manage.
