We have a program that uses the c$system command and we issue a "del" command and it does not work.

Got it fixed, using the wrong Flag.

Not my area of expertise, but DEL is built into CMD.EXE, and is not a separate program.

Have you tried:

   CMD.EXE /C "DEL D:\PFITST\SPOOLPAY\* /Q"
