[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 08 January 2008]

I know this isn't the forum for this type of question, but I have not been sucessful in my web searches.

I appoligize for posting here.

Does anyone know of a site or user group where I can search for a Junior Programmer.

Thanks,

RE: [archive] ACUCobol Programmer

Is this for a full time position or part time?

Reason for asking is that a while back we were so busy trying to convert to GUI and with customers hassling us for other work that we got a contractor via Acucorp UK for a very reasonable amount.

I have the contacts details if you wished to approach them directly.

I can't fault the work which was completed.
All work done in our offices too.

RE: [archive] ACUCobol Programmer

We would like to find a full time permanent. If I can't find one I would be interested in getting information from you. We are located in Houston, TX.

Did the part time programmer work remotely?

RE: [archive] ACUCobol Programmer

He came to Northern Ireland for 2 months, we rented a fully furnished apartment not too far from our office and he stayed there.

We spent 1 day showing him what we wanted done with a small example program.
He then converted it to GUI using our templates and made it a fully working example.

We then examined it to make sure all was well and the following day he started working his way through everything.

about 110 programs converted from text to GUI

RE: [archive] ACUCobol Programmer

Just a quick question, what is the nature of the work that you are looking for?
I am a freelance consultant and I do many conversion/migrations from old legacy based text systems to GUI systems, and I specialise in AcuCobol.

If I can be of any help, please contact me.

Thanks
