[archive] Error 30 on Win2K Server

[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 19 April 2006]

I have an odd problem on one system out of many. This simple file update process returns an error 30 on my inventory master, which in this process is opened input. I have run file trace with flush, have rigged up the declarative for this file with C$RERR, and there seems to be no secondary code coming back from the OS (Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Active Directory disabled). In the trace error log immedialtely prior to the error 30 the system states (*** System Error Value = 0 ***). If I take the declarative out in an effort to see the extended error code, the process freezes and must be killed.

I should point out that I run this simple process on several other systems with no problem.

Any ideas?
