[archive] User can't create DSN on Server 2003

[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 26 February 2008]

I am trying to setup a User DSN on Windows Server 2003. I can create one as the administrator but the user gets an invalid install path error. The title of the box states File DSN creation error. I have checked the permissions and they seem correct. Does anyone have any ideas or comments on this.

TIA

Odds are that this is a permissions issue. DSN's are stored in the registry. I would bet that the permissions to create registry values ar not part of a typical users permissions.
