[archive] acubenchprint

[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 21 November 2006]

Hi,

Has anyone got the following error (See Attachment) when using the print preview function in the acubenchprint.dll?

I have checked all my versions of IE and they are all 6.0 or above.

The application is also running in Terminal Services.

RE: [archive] acubenchprint

Hi Scott,

This is a known problem with AcuBenchPrint.dll that was fixed in version 7.0.0 by ECN-WB781.

I have attached the AcuBenchPrint.dll from version 7.0.0 and it will work with your version 6.1.0 runtime. Please make sure you search the server?s drive and replace every AcuBenchPrint.dll with this one.

The explanation is in the ecn documentation:

SUBJECT: AcuBenchPrint.dll fails if it cannot determine IE version

Change Number: ECN-WB781 Date: 2004-12-22
Status: Complete Product: AcuBench
Type of Change: Enhancement Module: Acubench70.exe
Priority: Medium New Version: 7.0.0
SPRs: 99-024752

Machines Affected: Windows machines running Acubench
Known Versions Affected: 6.2

DESCRIPTION of problem or enhancement:

AcubenchPrint.dll must determine if the IE Browser is 5.5 or newer.
It did this by querying a Registry key for this information. In rare
cases, System Administrators have set the IE version key as non-readable,
and then AcubenchPrint.dll will fail (even if IE version 5.5 is installed).

We have changed the method by which AcubenchPrint.dll checks for IE version
number - the new method of checking does not use the Registry, so should
avoid the rare problem described above.

NOTE: The most recent version of the AcubenchPrint.dll will work for
Acubench versions 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, and 7.0.

WORKAROUND:

none

INSTRUCTIONS for use:

Replace all occurrences of AcuBenchPrint.dll with the new one.
