[archive] imagelists, treeview, bitmaps

[Migrated content. Thread originally posted on 01 April 2009]

I was wondering if anyone has every used a treeview to display a list of files and has the windows file-type icons pulled for each file type (using api calls) and have them display as the bitmap in the treeview?

I think I can get a windows handle to the imagelist for each of the filetypes, but how to 'convert' that to a bitmap-handle is beyond my scope...

I was wondering if someone ever attempted something like this or did they just use MS paint and build a strip of icons and use that?
