His there a way to know how much file are open by the runtime?

Hi, don't think so. Runtime certainly knows (it must have an array of handles to them) but I think it wants deserve this info to programs. Maybe OS can know how many files (all types) are opened by a certain PID, but, as example, in a W2003 env even ProcessExplorer tool does not report them.
