Sweetening the Deal: OES 2015 Comes With Filr Access

Up to 8 exabytes of data storage. Access to NSS for Active Directory users. SMB version 2 protocol support. These are just some of the important features that you’ll gain access to when you purchase or upgrade to Open Enterprise Server (OES) 2015, the latest version of Micro Focus’ premium network services platform.

Now, there’s another great reason why you should consider investing in OES 2015: When you own an OES 2015 server and an accompanying maintenance plan, all of your users will receive complementary licenses for Micro Focus’ enterprise-grade file-sharing service, Filr—a professional alternative to consumer-oriented file-sharing services like Dropbox.

The addition of Filr to OES 2015 affords a tremendous value increase to OES 2015, as it allows employees, whether onsite or not, to access important multimedia files from any location. Employees simply have to connect to the core network to utilize Filr. It allows workers to access information securely, too. Filr protects end-user accounts by allowing IT administrators to mandate complex password requirements for accounts. It also comes with CAPTCHA support, which automatically triggers CAPTCHA authentication after five wrong login attempts.

What’s more, Filr puts file-sharing management responsibilities directly in the hands of the IT department. IT administrators can use Filr to regulate, which files within the enterprise can be shared, and with whom they can be shared. This solution can be used to control the flow of information across the enterprise, thus preventing the accidental distribution of sensitive information to unauthorized third parties.

Right now, Micro Focus is offering the latest version, version 1.2, of Filr to customers, until the highly anticipated release of version 2 expected in 1Q16.
