External user cannot subscribe

I have shared a folder from My Files (which is my home directory on file server) to external (self-provisioned) user with Contributor rights. When external user attempts to subscribe to this folder, they receive an error message:

You do not have the right to subscribe to your selections.

What rights can I give to overcome this?

Are you able to open a SR for this issue? If so then mention BUG#904137 in you service request.

This is currently working as designed. An enhancement has been entered
to allow this capability. Feel free to reference bug 890291 in the SR
to add your voice that this capability should be added.

I did as you suggested. My SR was closed with status "Waiting for engineering", so hopefully this will be fixed in the future.
However, I just noticed another thing - if I set e-mail settings for a folder using "Subscribe others to folder" and add external users to recipients list, external users are not receiving e-mail notifications. I wonder if this is related to the same bug.

I suspect that's just another symptom of the same issue.

I'm pretty sure this worked in 1.0.x version.
We've got many customers relying on the subscription feature, hope this will be fixed soon.
