Filr 3.x upgrade, now 4gb file size Limit?

We have an edge case (but very important) user of our Filr system here, and prior to updating from Filr 1.x to 3.x he was using Filr to upload a 40-80GB file to our servers here. This was done for several years and now with Filr 3.x we cannot transfer files larger than 4GB.

I need to urgently fix this issue, or identify where the issue has occurred, which is not at all obvious to me. Especially since I also inherited all of these systems from the older administrator. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Any ideas?

Administration Console > File UPload > File Upload Limits tab is the
only place I know of to limit the file size. Not sure how that might
have changed for you, but check that.

Re: Filr 3.x upgrade, now 4gb file size Limit?

How did this user used to upload these files?
- via drag and drop in the browser / the file chooser
- by using WebDAV ("real" WebDAV Client / Mapped WebDAV Network Drive)?
- Win/Linux/Mac?
- Desktop Client?
- ..
Maybe this helps us/others to track down or reproduce the problem if changing the File Upload Limits doesn't help.

Re: Filr 3.x upgrade, now 4gb file size Limit?

The file is generally copied via the local network by someone for him to use while he works remotely, and then he logs into the web page after getting connected via VPN; and tries to download.

Again, this worked fine for years in Filr 1.x, and stopped working after upgrading to 3.3. I've also increased the size of the vastorage partition because it had been only 50 GB, thinking there may be a caching issue or something else. It's now well beyond what we need and what this user might be copying. Still, the current file, exported using a database export utility, is 40GB in size.

Trying to work out what technical differences would exist relevant to this issue between 1.x and 3.x. When I did the upgrade, I didn't know this was a use case, as in general we haven't used Filr for many people.

Just to clarify:
1.) someone uses the file server share to copy the big file to this place?

2.) the file server share from question 1.) is a net folder in filr?

Filr upload size limit is generally 2 GB. Look at
https://www.novell.com/documentation/filr-3/filr-admin/data/file-upload.html

This article seemes to may be limited to webgui only, because it´s user
and group based.

I´m remembering something about editing the *.properties files in
/opt/novell/filr/apache-tomcat/webapps/ssf/WEB-INF/classes/config

but can´t find the place in the docs or TID at the moment.
