HTTP Status 400 - unknown file @ Filr 1.1
After migrating to Filr 1.1 everyting works fine.
Only one Network-Folder throws us a Tomcat message if we want to open any file within that folder (browsing the files and folders works fine):
Mobile client tells me that I do not have the neccessary rights.
Accessing this files as "admin" works fine. But not as an ordinary user (although he has the rights - and that worked before @1.0.1 !!)
I am running out of ideas now!
-> Any suggestions?

type Status report

description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect.
Apache Tomcat/7.0.42

- Deleting the Networkfolder and re-establishing it did not help
- Deleting the Folder and the Networkfolderserver and re-establishing the Server and the Folder did not help
- Re-indexing the folder did not help.

I found the solution!
The file rights on the server were given to "Everyone" (in german: "Jeder"). That seems to be a problem in the current version!
Establishing a global group, assigning the file-rights to that group and... the access works fine in the browser and in the mobile app.
In my opinion a bug with localized servers. 😛
I justed wanted to let the community to know how to work around.

Jetterer... I am having the same issue as you did... Are you saying You created a Group in "Microsoft Active Directory" and add "all AD Users" into that "AD Group"?? If so what Rights did you assign to that Group to eliminate the "HTTP Status 400" error?

In my case, I assigned "change" rights.

I had this same kind of issue
Me setup his
large install
2 filrsearch
2 appliance
1 db
1 nfs
I needed to use the same user from ldap user source for sync users than the user specified in net folder server.
This same user also has been use to grant all rights to each serveur volumes
My file server are Novell OES 2 sp3 and OES 11 sp1 and SP2.
I needed to re-sync, re-index everything
I have done this after a call with novell support.

But what kind of idiotic requirement is that?
Same user for LDAP & file system?
How do they relate?
My users started using Filr & all I get from them is grief that it does not work as well as NetStorage did (which was way simpler, but faster & it DID work!)

I have made the change anyway (same user for LDAP & file access)
Rebooted appliance, re-synced LDAP, re-synced/re-indexed Net Folders
Still getting error:
HTTP Status 400 - Unknown file
type Status report
message Unknown file
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect.
Apache Tomcat/7.0.42
Making Filr less then useful!
Anybody any more ideas?
Thanks
Seb

Seb,
I don't have a clue what that means, so I can't help. Maybe you need
to open an SR since no one is responding to your post.
We have found Filr 1.1 to be fast. (Filr 1.0 was definitely slower
than NetStorage). It also fixes some WebDAV issues we were having
with NetStorage. So hang in there.

But it is unusable as it stands. Most of my users documents are in Groups. SR is out of the question, on educational licensing 1 SR costs a quarter of year full licensing

Seb,
It is usable, working fine for us. So there must be somthing unique
about your setup. Hopefully someone can jump in here with some ideas.
Reading back through the posts, I don't follow what is going on with
your installation.
Didn't know you were educational licensing. That's tough. It is too
bad that educational licensing doesn't include a few SRs. Do you have
an outside support company that could assist?

Did you solved your problem?
We got the same with Filr 1.2
Finally it was a problem with incomplete group sync against AD.
users are members of an org-group in org container
this container was synced
file system rights were given to a "folder" group in an other container.
the org group from above was member of this folder group.
But the folder container was not synced.
So the users could see the file listing but the download ends in the
tomcat error.
Adding the additional container to ldap server solves the problem.
