Ransomware and the Filr Dektop Client

What about Cryptoware/Ransomware and the Filr Dektop Client?
I understand that a file or files which synchronized with the Desktop Client (taken offline) are encrypted and synchronized back to the server.
But what happens to users who have access through the Desktop Client to Net Folders.
Will ransomware encrypt all the files (where the user has rights) on a Net Folder?

There are several reasons why we do not allow users to synchronize net
folders with their desktop client. Your scenario is one of those.

So this is for or Organisation no possible threat? So Filr 3.0 is by default protected for Ransomware (when using Net Folders)? That would be great.

Indeed it is a threat to us like for everyone else.

There is no protection that I am aware of. Keeping a tight backup
schedule and assigning write rights only where strictly needed helps.

Re: Ransomware and the Filr Dektop Client

Is it possible to switch off the NetFolders for the desktop client? And only make it available by webaccess?

You can block the sync. function on Net Folders within the
administration web pages. I do not know how the hide the Net Folders
completely for users of the desktop client.
