download limit size?

Had a user attempt to download a 160 MB PDF file from the network to
their iPad using the Filr app. It claimed the file was too big and
choked. Where is download size controlled?

Re: download limit size?

I have not seen a Download limit or the ability to download files or not. That is in the Administration console under Mobile Applications.

Whilst it's possible to set a download limit that applies to the Desktop
Applications it doesn't apply to Web or Mobile Apps and there isn't a
separate limit you can configure for those.

Two possibilities I can think of:

1) the file is bigger than the Maximum Size for Cached Files configured
in the Mobile App - see Settings

2) there is insufficient space on the device to store the file

Re: download limit size?

Sorry my answer did not make sense. I was trying to say I have not seen a way to set a Download limit. You have the ability (as Simon said) limit the ability to block downloading for mobile devices. That is in the Administration Console under Mobile Applications.

Simon I don't see a download limit for Desktop Applications just a maximum file size that can be synchronized, unless that is what your are referencing.

Sorry I picked up on the "download limit" from Ken's subject line - yes
re Desktop Apps I meant maximum file size.

Nope. File is 160 MB. Cache size is 1 GB.

Has about 3.4 GB of space on the device.

When he attempts to open it, the app says "file is too big to view". I
just tried it from my iPad and I get the same error. And the Filr app
won't let me open the file in another app, just never responds. I
think I will open an SR with Novell.
