Hello,

That can happen when indexing is turned on but no path is set for the index.  You can resolve this by doing the following.

Set a path for the index in
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\.fortify\ssc\conf\app.properties
or
/usr/share/tomcat/.fotify/ssc/conf/app.properties

# Lucene index location on filesystem
searchIndex.location=C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\.fortify\

or

searchIndex.location=/usr/share/tomcat/.fortify/

Restart tomcat

Thank you

conf/app.properties:

searchIndex.location=C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\.fortify\

Is there a way to turn indexing off?  I did not turn it on in my upgrade.  I do not want it because the manual implies that indexing puts some stress on the server.

https://www.microfocus.com/documentation/fortify-software-security-center/1810/SSC_Help_18.10/index.htm#SSC_UG/Search_Function.htm

I assume that the dashboard UI interface fails to recognize that I did not enable indexing and sends a REST API request as part of setting up a search input element.

Hi,

If you do not set the value for the setting it essentially turns it off.  However you are then having to deal with the warning messages that stated in 18.10.   A bug has been logged on these as you should be able to turn it off the indexing without the constent warning messages.   This looks like a regression.

If you would like to look into a workaround for the time being I would request that you open up a support case.

we run tomcat as a domain user, so I put in the index path of

C:\Users\TomcatUser\.fortify\ssc\

But when I do that, all I get is an 404 for the ssc page.  Anythoughts?

Hi Tim,

Does that path exist on the system and the user/app has full permissions to read and write files to it?

Are you seeing any errors in the .fortify\logs\SSC.log file?

Thank you
